On January 29, 1886, Karl Benz registered a patent for his gas-engine driven car. This marked the birth of the AUTOMOBILE. From then on, Mercedes-Benz has never looked back. Today 125 years later its still commanding pole position on a market place where competition has become stiffer and stiffer.
